Chateau du Caillau is located in the village of Vire-sur-Lot in the Cahors region; it is the property of Philippe Bernede, whose family has been making wine here for six generations. The vineyard comprises 247 acres spread across three parcels, with the vines being on average 25 years old. The wine is classic Malbec, ripe, round and mellow, with bold tannins and dark, dense fruit.
