The Lageder family has been active in the wine trade for more than 150 years. The winery was founded in 1855 on the edge of the historic center of the town of Bolzano. Over the years the family has succeeded in purchasing several vineyards and wine estates in some of the region’s best wine-growing areas. Today the winery is run by Alois Lageder (born in 1950), actively assisted by his sister Wendelgard and his brother-in-law Luis von Dellerman, the enologist. Lageder is totally committed to the concept and practices of biodynamic viticulture and is in the process of converting all of his vineyards to that approach. His Pinot Grigio has expressive aromas of white flowers and ripe orchard fruit. On the palate it is creamy yet bright with flavors of apple and pear with a hint of lemon zest alongside fresh acidity, and the wine closes clean and crisp.
