Founded in 1865, Bibbiano is located in the historic Chianti region, in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, overlooking the Elsa Valley. Today’s owners, Tommaso and Federico Marrocchesi Marzi, are the fifth generation of ownership. Surrounded by vast olive groves, Bibbiano’s vineyards cover an area of about 65 acres, with enviable exposure and an excellent microclimate. The vineyards are planted almost entirely to Sangiovese and Sangiovese Grosso, with a smaller quantity of Colorino and some white grapes. Their Riserva ages 18 months, half of it in cement and half in french oak; a brilliant ruby red, it shows classic aromas of prunes and cherries and is dry and harmonious on the palate with soft velvety tannins.
