John and Ann Martini moved from suburban New Jersey to the shores of Seneca Lake in 1973, settling on a 100-acre property to grow grapes and raise their family. For several years they sold their grapes to a number of different wineries, but in 1990 they started the Anthony Road Wine Company and produced their first vintage. This is a dry, citrusy Riesling with penetrating layers of white grapefruit and tangerine laced with astringent notes of lime zest. Deeply fruited and forward, it has savory hints of nuts and spice that linger long on the finish.
