Located in Aude, France, Yvan & Co is a winery that, in their words, is “dedicated to producing fresh and vibrant wines that embody the spirit of Provence.” It is the project of Ivan Cardozo, a professional sommelier who started it in 2014. Yes, it is a curated portfolio of southern French wines, but it espouses broader interests in that it aims to spread the culture of winemaking and create a community of people who love and understand wine. The “Cazelou” wines are named in tribute to the growers, “cazelous” being the name for the small stone huts found in vineyards throughout the south that used to provide shelter for the growers when storms came. Juicy, fresh, and elegant, this Syrah delivers great quality for the price.
