This small property of only 17 acres is located in the heart of a wild forested area in southwestern Montalcino. It has been in the Palazzesi family for 100 years, but Elia is the first to produce wine for commercial sale, the estate having previous functioned as a livestock and cereal farm. His “Lo Spepo” is 100% Sangiovese done entirely in stainless steel; with a fresh bouquet of spices and Mediterranean herbs, it is medium-bodied, with soft, velvety tannins, and quite concentrated on the finish.
