Arnaud Combier studied viticulture and went on to work with wineries in the Mâconnais and in Chablis. His desire to make the most natural wines possible led him to his grandfather’s vines in the Beaujolais in 1998. For more than tenyears, Arnaud made wine at the family domaine, teaching other growers how to convert to organic winemaking. Combier has now joined forces with Francois de Nicolay of Chandon de Briailles (Savigny) and the eclectic winemaker Jeff Carrel to create Domaine des Morier, an estate delivering exceptional wines from distinct Beaujolais appellations. "Premieres Gouttes" (as the name might suggest)was the first wine produced here, a generous, layered Beaujolais, round and fruity, concentrated and well-structured, with fresh, expressive aromas of red fruits.
