One of the three founders of Banshee Wines back in 2007, Baron Ziegler has since gone on to establish an importing company called Valkyrie Selections and three other wineries, Averaen in Oregon, Requiem in Washington, and Valravn in California’s Sonoma County. Over the years Ziegler has built up a dynamic network of friends and colleagues who have helped him gain exclusive access to great vineyard sites. This Zinfandel, for example, is born from bush-pruned vines averaging 40 years old (some over 100) across the county's best appellations including Rockpile, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, and Russian River Valley AVAs. Smooth on the palate, with loads of berries, it has aromas and flavors of blue and red fruits and a long and energetic finish.
