The late Jess Jackson took great pride in the fact that the Kendall-Jackson enterprise began, and remains, a family-owned organization. Founded by Jackson in 1982, the K-J wine group now comprises 45 different wineries both here and abroad. Jess Jackson can be credited as having popularized Chardonnay in this country, and for many the name “Kendall-Jackson” remains synonymous with “Chardonnay.” This version blends together grapes from Monterey, Sonoma, Santa Barbara and Mendocino; it is fruit-forward, extrenely complex yet approachable, and exceptionally food-friendly.
