Founded in 1991 by the King family in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, King Estate is today the largest biodynamic certified vineyard in North America. Located near the southern end of the valley, it comprises more than a thousand acres, 625 of which are planted to vines, primarily Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris; additionally, the winery partners with some fifty top-quality growers throughout the Pacific Northwest, guaranteeing the winery the best possible fruit for their offerings. The “Inscription” line of wines is the winery’s latest venture: launched only in 2018, it is intended to further showcase the quality of Oregon’s Pinots and is largely made possible by those longstanding grower partnerships, which supplied roughly half of the fruit for this wine. This is class Oregon Pinot, round on the palate, with flavors of red fruit, subtle earthen notes, and just the right amount of oak.
