This family-owned and -run estate dates from 1979. Located facing the Orcia and Ombrone rivers, near Chiese di S. Restituta, it comprises some 22 acres of Sangiovese vineyards along with 12 acres of olive groves, all currently run by family patriarch Offelio with his sons Leonardo and Lamberto, as well as granddaughter Lucia who is in charge of the administrative part of the business. From early days the family has been known for their unfiltered, full-bodied wines that are rich in color and aroma, as is shown in this Brunello. This is a fruity version of Sangiovese, with aromas of violets and red cherries, beautifully balanced, clearly ageworthy yet eminently drinkable right now.
