Like much in the Loire Valley, Domaine de la Garrelière (In Touraine, in the Middle Loire) enjoys a rich history: it was once owned by a duke and portions of it have been under vine since the 1600s. The estate, with fifty acres of vines, was acquired in 1973 by the Plouzeau family and is today run by Francois and Pascale Plouzeau, who farm their vineyards biodynamically. "Le Rouge des Cornus" is pure Cabernet Franc, straightfoward and well done, effusively floral, with red peppers and high-toned fruit.
