Originally known as La Maison Noble du Bayle, this Sauternes estate earned its name, and its fame, when it was owned by the Guiraud family in 1766. From 1981 to 2006 it was owned by Frank Narby, who sold to a partnership formed by Robert Peugeot and three well-known Bordeaux winemakers and chateau owners, Olivier Bernard of Domaine de Chevalier, Stephan Von Neipperg, who owns numerous St. Emilion properties including Canon La Gaffeliere , La Mondotte and Clos L’Oratoire, and Xavier Planty, who Narby had brought in to manage the estate. “Le G” is their dry white, produced from a 38-acre organically farmed plot planted equally to Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. A plump wine of great energy, It is explosive on the nose, with notes of lime blossom and quince.
