Chateau Canon-La-Gaffeliere is a fifty-acre vineyard located on the southern part of the lower slopes surrounding the town of St. Emilion. Count Joseph Hubert von Neipperg purchased Canon La Gaffeliere in 1971. The von Neipperg family remain the owners today, with Stephan von Neipperg managing this property as well as several other St. Emilion estates owned by the family. The vineyards here are planted to 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon; they have been sustainably farmed since Stephan von Neipperg took over. The 2015 version is deep, powerful and explosive: with aromas of violet, rose petals, and blue fruits, it is full-bodied, with integrated firm tannins and a long finish.
