The Brunori family, whose ancestral home is the town of Cupramontana (Province of Ancona), have always been producers of Verdicchio wine, but it was not until 1956, under the leadership of Mario Brunori, that they went from simply turning out wine in barrels to bottling their product, at the same time opening a sales outlet in the town of Jesi. The have since added a red to their portfolio, in the form of this Rosso Conero.Today the enterprise is led by Mario’s grandchildren, Carlo and Cristina, both of whom are trained sommeliers committed to maintaining the family’s high standards. Their Rosso Conero Barco is 100% Montepulciano, done in a mix of stainless steel and concrete, with six months in oak to add complexity; it has aromas of ripe fruit and dried flowers and a palate of robust fruit flavors combined with soft tannins and a long spicy finish.
