Bettino Ricasoli, the "Iron Baron," was Italy's second prime minister after Cavour. He was also a far-sighted wine entrepreneur, however, and a great promoter of the Chianti region. Since 1993 Francesco Ricasoli, the 32nd Baron of Brolio, has been at the helm of the family estate and winery, pursuing the goal of renewing the quality and personality of great Brolio wines, which interpret the unique characteristics of the land and its history. This Chianti Classico is the perfect expression of the Brolio terroir, with its mineral nuance and intensity; full, round, and structured on the palate, it has toasty hints and sweet tannins with a lingering finish.
