Gaierhof is a family-owned and –run winery in northeastern Italy, in the town of Rovere della Luna, just shy of the border with Austria; it was founded in 1976 by Luigi Togn and it remains with the family today, one of the few family-run wineries in the region. It is also known as “a winery led by women,” as Luigi’s three daughters, Romina, Valentina and Martina now run not only Gaierhof but sister wineries Valdadige, Lechthaler, and the standard-bearer Maso Poli. Clean and fresh, their Pinot Grigio has an intense yet elegant bouquet with imperssions of pear and is well-rounded, with a finely balanced palate.
