Produced by the Bruichladdich distillery, The Botanist is a gin of layered complexity distilled using no less than 31 botanicals, 22 of which are sourced locally from the isle of Islay. These latter include the likes of mugwort, meadowsweet and the enigmatic Lady's Bedstraw flowers, and the resultant dry gin is described, perhaps unsurprisingly, as “floral.” It is a highly distinctive and complex gin with outstanding finish and impeccable provenance. In an age of re-badged industrial gins, the Botanist stands out as a truly artisanal, small-batch, hand-crafted labor of love and the distiller's art.
