Suntory was founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii, who was inspired by traditional Scottish whisky and whose aim was to create a whisky that would suit the palate of the Japanese and enhance their dining experience. Today third-generation Master Blender Shingo Torii continues the pursuit of his family legacy, with operations at three state-of-the-art distilleries, one at Hakushu, one at Yamazaki, and one at Chita. This is a medium-bodied whisky with the aromas of dried fruits and honey. It has a delicate, mellow taste with a lingering, woody, dry finish. The whiskies are aged in three different kinds of oak casks: American, Spanish and Japanese. This is what gives Suntory Whisky its unique quality.
