The Don Q rums are produced by the Serralles Distillery, a family operation in Puerto Rico that dates from the 1860s when Don Juan Serralles produced his first casks of rum using a copper pot still he imported from France. This remains a family-owned and –run company, today in the hands of Robert Serralles, who joined the company in 2004. The Don Q brand, launched in 1934, is named for Don Quixote. Their Gold is a blend of rums aged 1 ½ to 5 years, smooth, easy to drink, and highly mixable.
