The doctor bird, a swallow-tailed hummingbird, is Jamaica’s national symbol. Its namesake rum originates at Worthy Park Estate, a distillery that operated from 1670 to 1962, subsequently revived and refurbished by current owner Gordon Clarke in 2005. Doctor Bird is a blend of Worthy Park pot still rums, blended and aged in St. Catherine Jamaica, then shipped to Two James craft distillers in Detroit, where it is finished in Moscatel sherry casks. It is robustly full of flavor with plenty of Jamaican funk.
