Chairman’s Reserve Rum is produced by the St. Lucia Distillers on the Caribbean island of the same name. The distillery dates from 1932, when Laurie Bernard oversaw the consolidation of the last two distilleries left on the island. Barnard took it upon himself to restore the island’s rum reputation with the creation of Chairman’s Reserve. The distillery uses molasses sourced from British Guyana, using both continuous and pot stills; the rums from these stills are aged separately for three to four years, then combined and aged for six more months to marry the flavors. Their spiced bottling is packed with tropical flavor, with notes of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, allspice, and orange peel.
