Founded in 1831, Destilerias Acha (Or Atxa, in Basque) is a small but prestigious family operation in the Basque Country, now in the hands of fifth-generation Gabriel Acha, who is committed to maintaining the traditions and recipes passed down in his family. Using only natural ingredients, the distillery produces both red and white vermouths as well as Pacharan, a liqueur based on sloe berries that is traditional to this region. This is their dry vermouth, made folllowing an old family recipe. It is a blend of a neutral wine and alcohol macerated with a selection of traditional botanicals, including wormwood, gentian, and bitter orange. This is a sipping vermouth, but it will also work well in your favorite cocktails.
