Rejecting the many other vermouths on offer as being too sweet or too bitter or too balsamic in character, they set out to produce a balanced vermouth, from quality ingredients, with mixability and quaffability in mind, in a good package and with a good price. Volume Primo is the result, Produced at the historic Antica Distilleria Quaglia in Castenuovo Don Bosco, Piedmont, by the modern vermouth master Federico Ricatto, it is a fresh, Mediterranean-styled Vermouth. A blend of 95% Moscato d’Asti and 5% Grillo Siciliano, it is soft and fruity, while grape must, a touch of sugar, and caramel provide body without a cloying finish.
