Located in County Antrim in Northern Island, Bushmills prides itself on being the oldest licensed distillery in the world. As they proclaim on their web site, “we’ve been here for 400 years and don’t plan on leaving any time soon.” Bushmills, along with Jameson, is the iconic representation of Irish whisky; based on a recipe that has not changed in more than 100 years, it is a blend of single malt and grain whiskies, triple distilled, and bottled with no age statement. It has a mild, easy nose with a slight apple note and is dry on the palate, with a woody edge that is rimmed with honey.
