Bouchon Family Wines began in the late 19th century when young viticulturist Emile Bouchon left Bordeaux for Chile. Today, Julio Bouchon and his children carry on their 4th generation family winemaking tradition in the Maule Valley. “Canto Sur” is the Bouchon family’s tribute to their adopted homeland, a blend that affirms Chile’s wine history through its signature varietals, Carmenere, Carignan and old-vine Pais. The grapes were sourced from the Mingre vineyard in the Maule Valley, , which has a dry coastal climate. Fermented and aged in concrete to maintain the grapes’ somewhat wild character, the wine has bright berry fruit aromatics, herbal notes and juicy acidity on the palate, and a bittersweet finish.
