Ryan Harms moved to Oregon in 2001; having worked for several noted Oregon wineries, he founded Union Wine Company in 2005, dedicated to the proposition that wine made in Oregon didn’t have to be expensive. Underwood is one of three labels the company produces. A blend of Pinots from select vineyards across the state, the wine has forward, appealing flavors with an emphasis on tart strawberry fruit that puts a lively snap into the mid-palate. The tannins are present but balanced, and the wine delivers a lot of clean flavor for the price.
