The Santa Julia Winery was establlished some twenty years ago by one of the most important names in the Argentine wine world, Familia Zuccardi. It is today the largest family-owned winery in the country and one of the leading exporters of Argentinian wines (and yes, there is a Julia Zuccardi). Their vineyards, located in four different subregions of Mendoza, comprise more than 2100 acres. Grapes for "El Burro Natural" are sourced from their Finca Maipu estate, where a significant percentage of the vineyards has been certified organic since 2001. As the name indicates, this is a natural wine as well: no sulfites added, no clarrification process used, and only indigenous yeasts used. This is a fresh, fruit-forward Malbec with enticing aromas, great structure and body, and bright natural acidity.
