Agricola San Felice takes its name from a church on the property that is found in records as far back as 714.The Grisaldi del Taja family, owners of this land for several centuries, began producing wine here and were among the founding members of the consortium of Chianti Classico. In 1968 the estate was passed to Enzo Morganti, who then purchased the critically acclaimed Campogiovanni vineyard in 1984. Morganti helped turn the estate into a national treasure that now includes a 1900-acre resort village, 450 acres of vineyards, and a site dedicated to experimental viticulture and the genetic improvement of Sangiovese, as well as overseeing the development of Campogiovanni. The perfection of Sangiovese continues here today in the capable hands of Leonardo Bellaccini, who keeps the Morganti spirit burning. This Brunello offers licorice, sweet spices, toast, and smoke aromas and flavors that envelop a core of raspberry; it is complex, focused and structured, with an expansive finish.
