Founded in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart, this was the first established Champagne house. It is today owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennesy). The traditional house style emphasizes the preeminence of Chardonnay over Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. As the name “Blanc de Blancs” would indicate, this bottling is 100% Chardonnay predominantly from the Cote des Blancs with the remainder from the Montagne de Reims. The nose of this Blanc de Blancs is instantly welcoming. The unmistakable elegance of Chardonnay, subtle fruit, fresh salinity and mineral high tones give a wonderful poise to this Champagne, all of which is underpinned by a richness of sweet hazelnut and a toasty brioche note.
