This winery was founded in 1921 by Lorenzo Scavino and his son Paolo; today it is run by Enrico Scavino with his daughters Enrica and Elisa who represent the fourth generation here. They own some 58 acres of prime vineyard land throughout the Barolo region of Piedmont. Scavino wines are always characterized by purity, elegance, and freshness, and this 2015 Barolo Ravera is a perfect example. Medium- to full-bbodied, it is silky and polished on the palate, nicely structured, with plenty of ripe black cherry fruit.
