Pago del Encinar is the joint project of highly esteemed winemaker Javier Rodriguez and Francisco Ruiz Jimenez, an innovative grape grower in Rioja. The base of the project is a 145-acre high-elevation vineyard. The wine is lightly intense on the nose, with spicy balsamic notes well-fused with fruit; it is pleasant on the palate with toasty wood, ripe fruit flavors, and smooth tannins.
