The Sacy family has owned vineyards in Champagne since 1633, but it was only in 1962 that Andre Sacy took the decision to produce Champagne. The house is today run by Alain, Yael, and Jonathan Sacy, taking the enterprise into the 12th generation of family stewardship. Their 45 acres of vineyards in the Montagne de Reims region are planted to a mix of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier. This Extra Brut "Originel" is a blend of Pinot noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier sourced from parcels in seven diffeent terroirs. With damson plum and blackberry notes on the palate, it features a creamy mousse layered with accents of lightly charred toast, golden raisins, and roasted nuts, with a long tangy finish.
