Founded in 1937, this co-op in Tavel in the southern Rhone today comprises 86 growers that, taken together, represent nearly half of the Tavel appellation. Not surprisingly, their major focus in on rose, but they do produce several reds and whites offered as Liracs or Cotes-du-Rhones. This one of their roses, “Les Lauzeraies,” is named for the limestone vineyards)”les lauzes”) in which the grapes are grown. It is made from eight different varietals (including three white grapes) and is a blend of free-run juice, which gives fruit aromas, freshness, and acidity, and pressed juice, which preserves its richness, structure and strength.
