La Crema was born in a Petaluma warehouse in 1979 and quickly grew into a full-fledged winery making serious Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In the late 1980s the ownership ran into financial difficulties and sold to Jess Jackson’s Artisan & Estates cluster of upscale wineries. It remains a part of Jackson Family Wines today. They currently produce a dozen different versions of Pinot Noir, this one being their entry-level offering from the Sonoma Coast designation. It has aromas and flavors of blackberries and cherries with subtle hints of espresso and exotic spices, and fine tannins and balanced acidity drive a long finish.
