Founded in 1983 in Katzrin, in the Golan Heights, the Golan Heights Winery is jointly owned by eight Israeli settlements, which also supply the grapes for the wines. Their best-known label is probably Yarden, but Gilgal is also one of their lines, and these wines are given the same care and attention to quality as the Yarden wines. Their "Blanco" is an unusual blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat done entirely in stainless steel; light- to medium-bodied, the wine is flavorful and refreshing, with aromas of pear and vanilla and flavors of tropical fruits balanced out by a light grassiness.
