The Mourre family has been producing wines in Vacqueyras since 1962. Jean-Louis Mourre, who trained as a geologist, took over running the estate in 1995. His Cuvee Tradition is a Grenache-driven blend with powerful scents of cherry compote and dark berries, with a suggestion of dark chocolate. Broad and palate-coating, it offers weighty black and blue fruit and bitter chocolate flavors, with slow-building spiciness. It becomes firmer on the finish, featuring youthfully gripping tannins and a lingering licorice note.
