Jacky Blot is known as ‘the maestro of Montlouis.” Jacky started by purchasing twenty acres of old vines in Montlouis in the late 1980s; over the years since, he transformed and built up the domaine into one of the Loire’s finest addresses. It is generally agreed that he has been instrumental in taking Montlouis out of Vouvray’s shadow and establishing for it a reputation of its own—and a better one at that. Now joined by his son jean-Philippe, he makes dry, terroir-driven whites that can compete with the best in the world for precision, length, complexity and ageability. “Triple Zero” is the Blots pet nat, a natural sparkling wine bottled during the fermentation process; bone-dry and medium-bodied, it has fine bubbles and crisp acidity, with a mineral frame and a succulent finish.
