Founded in 2013, Domaine la Pascerette des Vignes is the project of a lifetime for Celine Robertgeot-Cienki. Originally an engineer from the Marne, Celine settled in the Mâcon, where her partner was from, in 1996. Soon thereafter they bought an old farmhouse and then started buying sheep (“pascerette” means shepherdess), then came a bed and breakfast, and finally vineyards in 2019. Today there are 60 sheep and some 18 acres of vineyards, where the sheep earn their keep. The vineyards, a mix of Chardonnay, Gamay, and Pinot Noir, are planted among pastures and forests and are all certified organic and hand-harvested. This Pinot has aromas of small black and red fruits and sweet spice; on the palate there is bright fruit as well, with supple tannins and an elegant structure.
