Located in Vosne-Romanee, this family estate had its beginnings in the late 19th century, when Francois Blee began farming a few parcels and selling his wines to negociants. His son Charles continued on, and when he retired in 1966 split the domaine between his two daughters, one of whom married Rene Cacheux, resulting in the creation of Domaine Cacheux-Blee. When their son Gerald took over in 2004 he renamed the property in honor of his father. The total property is small, running to roughly nine acres, but it includes some outstanding premier cru sites including this “Les Champs d’Argent.” Quite elegant and classically structured, this is a Burgundy filled with red and dark fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries and cassis.
