To the northwest of Bourges, the vineyards of Quincy are located on gently rolling terraces along the banks of the River Cher, covering an area of nearly 650 acres. It was one of the first Loire appellations to be granted AOC status. Domaine Pierre Duret was acquired in 1994 by Maison Joseph Mellot, a branch of the famous Sancerre dynasty and is today run by Catherine Corbeau-Mellot. The wine is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from vines that are 35-40 years old; it has a highly expressive nose combining floral and citrus elements and is fresh, fruity and balanced on the palate with a long finish.
