Morey-Coffinet was founded in the late 1970s by Michel Morey (son of the late Marc Morey) and his wife Fabienne (from the Pillot clan). Their son, Thibault, succeeded the couple, taking the helm of the estate in 2009. With deep roots in the Côte de Beaune, Thibault is well-positioned to continue to take this estate to the next level and has already made his name as “the rising star of Chassagne-Montrachet.” This Chassagne is from a certified biodynamic/organic vineyard; it was bottled unfiltered after spending 12 months in French oak, only 35% of which was new. The wine is rich and so smooth, with aromas of peach, nectarine, oak, white pepper, cream, and soft cheese, and an opulence that is balanced by a firm structure and vibrant acidity.
