Domaine Ravenau is arguably one of the top two estates in Chablis, consistently producing wines that show great purity of fruit, grip, and delineation. Montée de Tonnerre, located southeast of the grand cru vineyards above the town of Chablis, is the most consistently outstanding of Raveneau's premier cru vineyards. It produces powerful, muscular and closed wines that typically need ten or more years to develop and blossom. This is a rich wine, pale golden in color, with aromas of white and yellow fruit, honey, and stone minerality with light vanillan oak hints. The palate is quite rich and intense with golden apple and yellow fruit flavors combined with great, refreshing acidity.
