The De Forvilles emigrated to Piedmont from Belgium in 1848 and established themselves in the village of Barbaresco in 1860; in 1907 Paolo Anfosso married into the De Forville family and took over the reins of the family business, but it was only in 1940 that they began bottling their own wines. Now the fifth generation is in place, in the persons of Valter and Paolo Anfosso. This vibrant, full-bodied red is a blend of grapes harvested in parcels spread amongst the three communes of Barbaresco, Neive and Alba. The average age of the vines is thirty years. The wine is fresh and fruity on the nose, full and round on the palate with balanced acidity.
