The origins of the Damilano estate date back to over a century ago, when Guiseppe Borgogno, the great-grandfather of the current owners, started to grow and make wine from his own grapes. This tradition was kept up by Giacomo Damilano, the founder’s son-in-law, together with his children, until it was passed on to his four grandchildren, Guido, Marguerita, Paolo and Mario, who very attentively manage their forefathers’ land today. Guido runs the winery, while his two brothers are in charge of the commercial side. This Barolo, from the esteemed Cannubi vineyard, is a sumptuous red, with appealing aromas of cherries, plums, tobacco, licorice, and cocoa. On the palate it is broad and harmonious, with soft tannins and a persistent finish.
