A well-known cru bourgeois property in the norther part of the Medoc, Chateau Noaillac was acquired in 1983 by the Pagès family, who also own Chateau La Tour de By, another highly regarded cru bourgeois. Today it is managed by Damien Pagès , widely considered a rising star in Bordeaux. The estate comprises just over 100 acres, planted to a mix of Cabernet, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, with the vines being, on average, 20-25 years old. This 2019 vintage is predominantly Merlot; it is a classic Médoc, with rich notes of cassis and mineral, and with a finishing polish of toasty oak.
