Chateau Fleur Cardinale was purchased by Dominique and Florence Decoster in 2001. Prior to buying their first Bordeaux wine estate, they were in the fine china business in the Limoges region of France. Their 62-acre vineyard in St. Emilion is planted mostly to Merlot with some Cabernets Sauvignon and Franc. The estate is so named because of the profusion of roses and other flowers planted in front of and around the chateau. A 70/25/5 blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a fleshy, round Bordeaux filled with licorice, espresso, dark chocolate, and ripe red fruits.
