This legendary estate was established by Gaston Hochar in 1930 in Ghazir, Lebanon, located about 15 miles north of Beirut; today the winery is in the capable hands of third-generation brothers Marc and Gaston Hochar, whose father Serge put the winery on the international map, winning lifetime achievement awards around the world. The vineyards are in the Beqaa Valley and are planted to a mix of classic French red and white grape varieties along with some indigenous white grapes. The winery launched the “Musar Jeune” range of wines in 2007; they are vibrantly fruity wines, unoaked, designed to meet the need for a “current drinking” Musar range. This red is a blend of Cinsault, Syrah and Cabernet from the estate’s younggr vines; it is aromatic and silky-textured, with a warm, spicy finish.
