Chateau Lagrange, a third growth in the 1855 classification, is located in the west of the Saint-Julien appellation right in the heart of the Médoc vineyards. Lagrange produces refined, elegant, balanced and earthy Saint-Julien. One of the furthest west of the Saint-Julien estates, this property has been greatly improved with investment from Japanese owner Suntory. This 2005 has been called “a joyous Cabernet,” with the lovely textural fatness and kindness of tannin that places it clearly in St-Julien. It features currant, mineral, plum, and light toasty oak on a full body, with silky tannins and a long caressing finish.
