Lapostolle Wines was founded by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle and her husband Cyril de Bournet in 1994. Alexandra is a member of a renowned French family (think Grand Marnier) that has been dedicated for several generations to the production of high quality wines and spirits. Under the couple, Lapostolle has been a pioneer in the wine industry in Chile and today its wines are recognized throughout the world for their extraordinary quality and for their ability to express the Chilean terroir. Today they own nearly a thousand acres in three different vineyard locations and produce 200,000 cases annually. Clos Apalta is from a single vineyard in the Colchagua Valley. A classic Bordeaux-style blend of Merlot, Carmenere, Cabernet, and Petit Verdot, it has an intense creamy attack with black fruit flavors, long-lasting velvety tannins, and an intense elegant finish.
